Numbers / theory crafting / crystal ball predicting gets old fast though.

I enjoy reading the crystal ball gazing for the same reason I enjoy listening to political punditry or whatever. There's a bigger picture than "Today we had a fleet fight ..." and that tries to put it in some context. |
The speculation tends to be biased and partial to one side.
Battle reports tend to be safe ground. |

I have to disagree. Battle reports often tell very little about the overall course fo the war. I'm much more interested in figuring out if someone completed their strategic abjective than whther or not alliance A lost 30 BSs and alliance B lost 25. Warfare at this level of the game is really about territorial control and resource management/logisitcs. I may be the freak , but I find that kind of stuff really interesting and the "I chased so and so 10 jumps until they got caught at a gate camp" rather dull.
Talking solely about battle reports is like going into exquisite detail about how far a quarterback can throw and how terrific a catch was, but refusing to mention the score of the game itself.
Don't get me wrong, there will be bias on all sides, but we can point out the inconsistencies without it degenerating into a shouting match. |

There have been very few mentions of lag in this thread. I just mention it because we've had assloads of battle reports, and the lack of lag talk seems noteworthy. |
Lag is still present in huge fights however now it comes in a new flavour.
a)guns don't cycle
b)you sit for 20m 'entering space' unable to do anything (same effect as when you ship is destroyed)
There are work arounds for a) and b) goes away eventually (20m is really not that long in a huge fight)
Tbh the main problem in big fights now is if you win the field due to the number of people involved there are so many wrecks and abandoned drones your client will have a seizure when you switch brackets on at the end.
So in short things are still terrible but we now have the lesser of two evils. _________________

I've been a long time reader of SHC since it is one of the only places know for it's great insight, battlereports and CAOD free slander and up until now I have not contributed to the discussions.
First ever post, be it lame or lack content but please do not quote things that you know nothing about. That is nowhere near the reasons as to why FOFF left EXE. |
It is actually one of many reasons. When you have an op and there are 80 people sitting back home ratting and mining and 30 in fleet it is a big issue. And the invasion of delve had nothing to do w/ us leaving. We were already moving out on the DL while we were operating in curse with BOB. |

| There's really nothing surprising about people later fighting alongside people they shot before. EVE's default interaction between any two parties is the exchange of gunfire. However, how each side behaves during that shooting says a lot about who they are. A respected foe can easily be blue later. I believe the majority of our long-term blues have been on our target list in the past. |

Ken has lost Delve.
That's not speculation or crystal ball gazing, that's history. |

Pretty big (no idea on actuality) fight going on in FAT, 2 PL titans blueballed the NC, Goons and PL itself about half an hour ago by doomsdaying 65 GKC and some French guys in Delve. :argh: jumpclone timers _________________

We just (TCF backed up by a few coalitiions) had a brawl with mostly SE / Coven ; AAA coming late on the fight once main brawl happened.
More intel on this fight later on when coalitions number kick in though numbers seem quite bright atm for the alliance.
edit : previous message mentiosn a DD by PL which happened earlier than mentionned fight in 1DH on F20 gate which caught our tacklers and Bs. Bs motly heavily tanked the Dd though hostile Gkc gang (and our support) got DDed pretty well. Well mainly Gkc.
On a bright note i salvaged like 5 T2 trita bars from a Minmatar elite Cruiser Yay !

| With all strategic systems and moons captured in Delve and Querious, we're starting our Catch offensive immediately. We were going to take down the cynojammers but got delayed too much, and couldn't kill the pet fleet fast enough before AAA reinforced them and had to call the op off. |
